Wider Horizons School is the only secular nonsectarian private PK-12 in Hernando County, founded in 1983 in Spring Hill and accredited by NIPSA (National Independent Private Schools Association). The school combines a Montessori-based program in preschool and elementary with a college-preparatory model for junior high and high school. The campus sits on five acres in a residential setting with low student-teacher ratios; all staff hold at least four-year degrees. Admission requires a personal interview, and 100% of graduates attend a 4-year college.
