Horace Mann School is a coeducational N-12 independent day school founded in 1887 in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. The school operates across three campuses: a Nursery Division and Lower Division (N-5) in Manhattan and Riverdale, a Middle Division (6-8) and Upper Division (9-12) on its main 18-acre Bronx campus, and a 275-acre John Dorr Nature Laboratory in Connecticut used for outdoor and experiential education. The Upper Division offers more than 180 courses including over 20 Advanced Placement options and 26 honors classes. Horace Mann publishes a college-attended list annually; recent matriculation includes Penn, Columbia, Duke, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, Stanford, NYU and UC Berkeley.
