Xavier High School is an all-boys Catholic Jesuit college-preparatory school in Chelsea, Manhattan, founded in 1847. The school occupies a building on West 16th Street near Sixth Avenue. Xavier is one of the few US high schools with a mandatory JROTC program in freshman and sophomore years (continued voluntarily as the Xavier Regiment, a Gold Star Honor Unit with Distinction continuously since 1993). The school offers 18 AP courses and 20 varsity sports, with language offerings including Arabic, French, Italian, Latin, and Spanish. Xavier provides $6 million in need-based tuition assistance and merit scholarships for 2025-26.
